Victory and Vibes: Thames High School Athletics Day 2026
The sun was out, the house colours were on full display, and the energy at the track was high for our annual Athletics Day! It wasn’t just about the personal bests and the finish lines; it was about the incredible sea of blue, red, gold, and green coming together to celebrate sportsmanship and community.
Some of our house captains had this to say about the day:
“Rudman had a great day… It was awesome to see lots of participation from our house group and joining in on the chants. Fantastic relay, and thank you to everyone who participated for that—we look forward to seeing what’s coming up next and bringing our best house spirit!”
“Athletics Day was an absolute blast, and it was awesome to see the students in Hoult getting involved and giving it their all. The energy and enthusiasm were unmatched, with our house spirit shining through in every event… everyone played a part in making the day such a fun and memorable one!”
“The all around vibe was amazing with everyone cheering and showing great team spirit. I loved taking part in all the different activities. It was amazing seeing my house, Adams, coming together to cheer and encourage our house!!”
Regardless of which house took home the most points, the day was a success because of the collective effort of the students. As one leader summed it up:
“Athletics day was an enjoyable day as we got to witness the house spirit of all the students and how much fun they all had trying out different athletic activities throughout the day.”
A massive thank you to our Sports Coordinator, Tess, the staff, and the student leaders for making 2026 one for the history books.
