Te Kura Tuarua o Te Kauaeranga | Thames High School is seeking a positive, organised, and relationship-focused Programme Coordinator to support the delivery of
Te Ara Whakamana – Pathway to Empowerment, a new initiative launching in 2026.
This programme provides a small-group, homeroom-style learning environment for a small number of taiohi who require a flexible, supportive, and engaging pathway to stay or reconnect with education. The role involves facilitating authentic, relevant, project-based learning alongside literacy and numeracy support, supporting participation in selected classes, and coordinating workplace and community-based experiences.
We are looking for someone who has experience working with young people (youth work, education, social services), can build excellent relationships, is calm and solution-focused, and can plan and deliver meaningful learning opportunities tailored to individual needs.
This is a fixed-term position for the 2026 school year, funded through the Ministry of Education’s Alternative Education provision, supplemented by Board-approved programme funding.
Hours & Terms
8.30 am – 3.30 pm, Monday-Friday(includes 30-minute unpaid break) Term Time Only
