Library & Resource Hub Coordinator
Permanent Part-time

Te Kura Tuarua o Te Kauaeranga | Thames High School is seeking a warm, organised and future-focused  Library & Resource Hub Coordinator to lead our library services and support the development of a welcoming, purposeful learning environment for our ākonga.

This role is central to supporting reading, research, quiet study, and student wellbeing, while also coordinating school resources, devices, and contributing to media and archive functions. As the school continues to develop a Library, Resource and Innovation Hub, the role may expand over time.

The Library & Resource Hub Coordinator’s Role is to:

  • Manage daily library operations and promote a culture of reading
  • Support student research, quiet study, and supervised class use
  • Maintain a calm, inclusive, safe space for diverse learners
  • Coordinate devices (CoWs, loan Chromebooks) and basic ICT troubleshooting
  • Assist with media and archive tasks, including organising photos, digital files, and displays
  • Maintain orderly, attractive spaces that promote learning and belonging
  • Support a small “innovation corner” and contribute to future hub development

There is the potential to grow as the school expands its innovation and resource capabilities.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys supporting young people and building positive relationships
  • Is organised, proactive, and confident with basic digital tools
  • Can create a calm, structured environment with clear expectations
  • Values reading, research, and inclusive learning spaces
  • Is adaptable and willing to grow with the evolving needs of the school
  • Has experience in education, libraries, or administration (an advantage, not essential)

Te Ara Whakamana – Pathway to Empowerment Coordinator
(Fixed Term 2026)
Teacher Aide – Grade C | Term-Time Only

Te Kura Tuarua o Te Kauaeranga | Thames High School is seeking a positive, organised, and relationship-focused Programme Coordinator to support the delivery of
Te Ara Whakamana – Pathway to Empowerment, a new initiative launching in 2026.

This programme provides a small-group, homeroom-style learning environment for a small number of taiohi who require a flexible, supportive, and engaging pathway to stay or reconnect with education. The role involves facilitating authentic, relevant, project-based learning alongside literacy and numeracy support, supporting participation in selected classes, and coordinating workplace and community-based experiences.

We are looking for someone who has experience working with young people (youth work, education, social services), can build excellent relationships, is calm and solution-focused, and can plan and deliver meaningful learning opportunities tailored to individual needs.

This is a fixed-term position for the 2026 school year, funded through the Ministry of Education’s Alternative Education provision, supplemented by Board-approved programme funding.

Hours & Terms
8.30 am – 3.30 pm, Monday-Friday(includes 30-minute unpaid break) Term Time Only
