Kia ora mai ano tatou katoa,
What a great season we have had with Basketball this year!
Three teams made it to the semi finals but were not able to progress any further, not from lack of trying! All three semi-finals games played this week, were played with heart and determination. I hope you are all proud of yourselves, you deserve to be.
We have had 41 students involved and 8 volunteers offering coaching and management to the teams.
I would like to acknowledge the following people for their amazing contributions to this season: Richard Barlow (Coach) & Dave Sim (Manager) for the Senior Boys, Dora Dehar (Manager), Marisa Dehar (Coach & player) & Larissa Davy (Coach) for the Senior Girls, Luke Hale (Coach) & Samantha Marriner (Manager) for the Junior Boys and Missy Veal (Coach & Anne Reid (Manager) for the Junior Girls.
All of our volunteers have shown a real commitment to our players, and THS really appreciates their support. Ka mau te wehi!
I would also like to acknowledge the many parents and grandparents who have provided transport and food, have come to games and have helped us keep the season ticking along.
Our season takes us all over the Coromandel Peninsula with away games as close as Paeroa College and as far as Mercury Bay Area School. Thanks to all the schools in our competition for making us feel welcome when we travel.
Our Head of Sport Sally Berridge and Sports Coordinator Susan Barriball have been invaluable with their knowledge and support of the teams, bookings and words of encouragement. My thanks to you both.
I hope to see many of you back next year as THS continues with our commitment to grow Basketball at our kura.
Kia koutou katoa, kei aku Rangatira, kei aku raukura na koutou nga kapa poitukohu i hapai. Mei kore ake ko koutou kua kore rawa a matou tamariki e eke panuku, e eke tangaroa i tenei tau.
Ma tutakarerewa e ora ai a ihuoneone.
Nga Manaakitanga,
