On Saturday 8 June, Thames High School seniors gathered for the annual school ball at the Civic Centre.
Themed “A Star is Born,” the event lived up to its name as many stars shone brightly, adorned in full glam. Several students were recognised for their outstanding efforts and dazzling appearances.
The King and Queen awards were bestowed upon Tamatoa Anderson-Wakahoehoe and Kiera Hall. Kiera captivated everyone by donning a traditional Indian Sari. Danny Topia and Annabelle Hutchinson-Wong were crowned Prince and Princess of the night. Head Student Koen Liddell and Student Leader Maia Harrison were celebrated as the Best Couple, Taylor Menzies won Best Hair, Rebekah Le Roux took home the Best Heels award, Luke Jamieson was recognized for the Best Tie, Ezekiel van der Lee for the Best Suit, and the award for Best Ride went to Nemburt Ceyda and Nadia Newton.
This magical night wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of the community and teachers, particularly Jen Fletcher and the ball committee.
Thanks to Taryn from Make Your Day Events for again using her magic and muscle to transform the Civic Centre into a beautiful and glamorous venue.
We also thank Burtons Catering for the delectable food, which included nachos, pulled pork, drumsticks, and salad, ensuring everyone was well-fed.
The photographers and DJ from Shadow Productions deserve a big thank you for providing the sounds and capturing memories that the students will undoubtedly “share and like.”
Head Student Cassandra Duthie expressed her thanks to
“the ball committee members Isla, Sophie, and Amber, all the student leaders, and the tech-savvy individuals like Aiden, Jayden, and Jacob. Additional thanks to the adults who helped with the setup on the day and to former student Sam Oxford for their invaluable assistance.”
Overall, the night was a stunning success, filled with joy, glamour, and unforgettable memories. Here are some photos from the photo booth.
