Thames High School offers a full and comprehensive range of subjects at all levels. Junior secondary students study up to nine subjects during the year. Year 11 and Year 12 students must select six subjects from a range of options. Most Year 13 students only take five, and use their free time to study.

Year 11: National Certificate of Educational Achievement Level 1
Year 12: National Certificate of Educational Achievement Level 2
Year 13: National Certificate of Educational Achievement Level 3, University Entrance, New Zealand Scholarship Awards
