Our Kitchens Rule!

Thames High School’s masterchefs got their knives out and their pinnies on for this year’s International Food Festival.

Seventeen cultures were represented at eighteen food stalls, including Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, NZ Maori, Russia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Students planned their menus and budgets, as well as doing the cooking and selling during the lunch hour.

Pauline Whittle from THS’ International Department said the objective of the food festival is “for the students to share their culture, and to make sure they plan a budget to cover the costs of their food.”
