Kia ora!
We’re emailing to announce an upcoming UN Youth event, Kaiarahi mō Āpōpō: Auckland Politics Summit 2017, which students at your school may be interested in attending.
‘Kaiarahi mō Āpōpō’, which means leaders of tomorrow, is set to include exciting workshops, well-known guest speakers, and a chance to meet other like-minded young Kiwis. High school students will have the opportunity to step into the shoes of an MP, represent a political party, and be a part of a select committee. They’ll get to negotiate draft bills and gain a better understanding of Parliament’s law making process.
We hope to reach out to Auckland high school students from all backgrounds and invite them to share their interests in politics and passion for positive change. This two-day summit is set to take place between the 5th-6th August, and will challenge young people to grow as New Zealand’s leaders and develop a greater awareness of New Zealand politics. Kaiarahi mō Āpōpō will be hosted at the University of Auckland.
To register for the conference, students are required to answer one question (approximately 150 words) and submit payment of $60. We have a number of equity scholarships available to cover the full delegate fee for students who may not be able to attend otherwise. Registrations close 11:59pm on Friday, 28th July.
