Junior Speech Competition

Thames High School’s proud tradition of public speaking has continued to be fostered in this year’s junior speech competition. As a break from the more well known format of speeches a number of students decided to present “slam poetry-style” items. However, the topics ranged from subjects of more current environmental and health issues to speeches that spoke more about personal development of teenagers in their current world. The competition was watched by all Year Nine and Ten students and ably adjudicated by Matua Allen.

Winner of Year 9 was Rosie Juby and Year Ten Riley Elliot-Hogg.
