Kia ora I would like to update everyone on what’s been happening in the Drama Department this year. The big news was that we entered one student, Amelie Ballantyne, into the Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Competition this year and she was awarded a direct entry to the National Shakespeare Schools Production. This was a massive achievement for Amelie as it meant she completely by-passed the National competition. |

Earlier this year I received a wonderful text message from one of recent ex-drama students, Genoveve Reverte-Neale, who is currently in the second year of her Arts Degree at Te Auaha NZ Institute of Creativity in Wellington. She wrote: “Just want to thank you for everything. I just finished my fifth paid acting job for 2020 and can’t help but think what my life would have been like if not for your encouragement to follow this career path. I am so fulfilled as an actress and know I am who I was meant to be.”
So, for all our taiohi, plan to do the things you love to do and make it happen. |
