Tegan in Top Touch Team

Year 10 student Tegan Foster has been chosen for the Touch New Zealand Development Academy.

She was spotted by selectors at the 2016 Junior Nationals in Christchurch, where she played for the Thames Valley Mixed under 15 touch team.

Tegan is one of  seven girls from around the country selected to join the NZ mixed under 15 development team.

Her selection is made more impressive by the fact she hadn’t played regularly for a team during last year’s touch season, and had been concentrating on netball.

Touch New Zealand says the academy provides a unique coaching environment for up and coming players with the potential to reach the Youth and Opens Team framework.

It says the aim of the academy is to bring like-minded and skilled players with potential to pathway into the elite touch environment via workshops, fitness testing and group coaching sessions where they experience the Touch Black training programmes and mentoring from High Performance New Zealand coaches.

Way to go Tegan!
